JOB DESCRIPTION

L & M Fabrication & Machine Co. Inc. is in need of a Takeoff/Estimator for building & miscellaneous steel
projects. Qualified candidates should have several years of proven experience.

Responsibilities:
-Review and organize bid documents for detailing and subcontract suppliers.
-Gather list of plan holders and identify prime contractors interested in receiving formal
proposals.
-Read and understand all pertinent contract doc's, specifications and clarify scope with client.
-Perform material takeoff & apply shop labor in our Fabtrol data base.
-Update project specific material pricing.
-Identify material finishes and apply costs provided by vendors.
-Assemble detailed proposals and all associated bid forms for submission.
-Write up project cover sheet and estimate summary upon receipt of award.
-Review project scope with production and project manager.
-Assist with change order pricing for project management.

Preferred Experience and Skills:
-Ability to interpret contract plans and specifications.
-Experience with bridge, sign structures, building steel and miscellaneous metals.
-Fabtrol MRP and/or PRO experience.
-Able to adapt to a fast paced environment.
-Detail oriented enthusiastic self-starter.
-Exceptional organizational skills.
-Experience in estimating and sales preferred.
-Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
